I have a working setup & things have been pretty smooth, so I haven't bothered looking into multirecording with my HDHomerun.

But Comcast changed our channel lineup around, recently, so I'm going to have to mess around with things anyway, so I figured I'd add that in too.

Is there anything I need to do for multirecording other than download the latest HDHomerun SW & FW, and follow the GBPVR instructions on the silicon dust board?

Thanks

Just make sure you have all the patches from the survival guide for GBPVR. Everything should work. Don't forget to turn off the dynamic tuner allocation.

I tried the latest from Silicon Dust & followed the steps, (including patch installation), but gbpvr's config app kept freezing when I tired to preview the channels picked up in the scan.

I was in a hurry since I have to get this working again tomorrow (to keep peace in the house Wink ), so I rolled back to the old HDHomerun software & have things working again (no multirec though), but I forgot to collect logs.

Can anyone think of any obvious common misteps that might have led to this? Channel scans work fine with the old software... I did uncheck "Dynamic Tuner Allocation"...

If not, I guess I'll just pass on multi-rec for now.

When you say "using the old software", do you mean you are using ATSC remap mode? If you are already using the "TuningSpecial=1" setting, all you really need to do for GBPVR to use multi-record is to make sure that your tuning strings are set to "T:x,0,0" and enable multi-record. You shouldn't need to go through the entire channel mapping process.

Interesting. Yes, I'm using the ATSC remap mode (and I turned TuningSpecial back off again).

Also, one thing that occured to me overnight: I never set the mux to FullTS - would that cause problems for preview mode?

Here's a sample string: T:15,0,0~P:1~V:1984~A:1985~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>81.5 KYW (000)

What should it look like to multirecord?

thanks

No, the must setting is only used when recording, not duing scanning.

If that was one channel you're trying to record, what was the other channel? If they both start with "T:15,0,0" then multirecord should be possible.

I never got to the point of trying to record - only scanning. Scanning completed, but I was unable to preview the channels w/o the config app freezing.

Based on your response, it doesn't appear that there's any merit in my pursuing multirecord any more. Looks like none of the channels that come through after the scan are on the same QAM (ie, T:X,0,0 has a different "X" for each channel).

Maybe Comcast only puts one unencrypted channel per QAM in my area...

Thanks anyway guys.

Hey philly_phenom

I just reinstalled GBPVR this past weekend and I thought the channel scan was locking up too. If I clicked on it, it would say "Not Responding". I rebooted the PC and started the channel scan again. This time I just let it sit for about 15 minutes and it finally finished. It was stuck on 63 for like 10 minutes, but it did continue and finish. It did the same for both tuners too.

Maybe you need to let it go a bit longer.
