Running 1.3.11, I am unable to un-pause live TV. It pauses for 8 seconds before going to the screen that shows the recording bar at the top and the program name at the bottom, then the screen goes black and I can't un-pause the recording. Nothing happens, either with the keyboard or using the remote. The only thing I can do is "back" out to the TV guide and start watching the program again.

Please find enclosed a fresh set of logs (quit everything, delete all the log files, launch PVRX2 and try pausing live TV). I'm going to experiment with some different video codecs but it doesn't feel like they're the problem, everything else seems to work fine at the moment. Where should I start looking to try and make this work?

It looks like one of the default decoders might be causing the problem. Try selecting other decoders on the playback tab in the config app.

Looking in the recording service log, the video stream I paused has been written to a temp file in c:/Temp and I can play that file back in MPC. So it is recording the stream but not sending any feedback to the PVRX2 UI...

The thot plickens...

Also, hitting Play on the remote seems to do nothing, hitting Pause during a paused broadcast brings up the program info and recording bar, moving the mouse shows the buttons.

PDVD8: No difference
Elecard MPEG2: No difference
InterVideo NonCSS: No difference
MPEG Video Decoder: No difference
FFDShow: No difference.

That's all the decoders I have installed and they all produce the exact same symptoms: I get 7 seconds of still picture after pressing the pause button before the screen goes blank, then the Play button does nothing, pause button shows the UI again and the only thing I can do is back out to the TV guide.

I have recorded shows by finding them in the TV guide and marking them for recording then watched them later without problem, just pausing live TV is problematic.

Hi all, I'm making the move from vista media center to GBPVR and I'm having this same problem. I will try some other decoders tonight, but am wondering if anyone else is seeing this, or has fixed it?

Other then this issue I am very happy so far.

Thanks

I switched from default to the ffdshow decoder, I also changed the rederer to the EVR - since I made both changes at the same time I cannot say for sure what worked. :o

I am also having a problem when trying to pause live TV. It immediately goes to a screen saying no tuners available and my only option is to click the button to stop watching TV. I was assuming it would start buffering in the LiveTV buffering directory using software. I know my card doesn't support Hardware pausing. It is Hauppauges old WinTV Radio cards. Everything else seems to work fine except I cannot pause live TV. Anyone have suggestions on where to get started?

Here is part of my RecordingService Log:
