HVR-900 Tuner

Just set up GB-PVR.

I have gone into Config -> Capture Sources to set up the tuner and tune channels.

I have set the EPG Source as DVB EPG Broadcast.

Now at the Edit Recording Source if I click on Update EPG a dialog box pops up saying Updating EPG then it disappears. But then there are no channels listed where there should be Channels.

If I then click on Map digital channels to EPG channels, Digital Channel Mapping pops up, then the entire Config box all disappears.

Reproduce this problem, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

OK have managed to get GBPVR working. Spent the entire day reinstalling Windows. When in doubt, reinstall!!

Compared to Mediaportal, this MC is stable and inspiries more confidence in useage.

How can one get the HVR-900 remote functioning?

Disregard this, got the remote working using the original Hauppauge software. I'm impressed.

Now what about DVB-T Radio channels? How can I get those?

I have managed to get GB PVR working as it ought to and have been using it for a good few days now. There is some feedback to report back.

1. The graphic capabilities are impressive which makes for a smooth and efficient experience of the software -- TV mainly.

2. However the software does tend to lock-up quite often. This is often caused by switching to a DVB channel which the software does not seem to know how to handle.

3. The DVB-T Radio plug-in is a bonus and should be integrated into the software.

4. The DVB-T Radio plug-in runs as a Service which is quite unstable. The Service tends to misbehave often causing more lock-ups in the software. Again I am led to hypothesise, an incoming signal or a bad or weak signal causes the software to not know what to do causing in the particular instance and thus locks up.

5. There needs to be a feature to rescan DVB Radio channels. The plug-in scans for channels only once at the very start.

6. What is the significance of the Tray module/loader? My Remote Control never seems to work in GBPVR if the applet is sitting in the tray.

7. DVB scanning brings up two channels independently of each with Secondary Audio. These channels somehow need to be sorted automatically. On a few scans the "SAP" channels are all grouped together towards the end, and whilst on other occassions, the Secondary channels are scatterred around the place in the EPG.

8. EPG leaves many holes with missing programme data. The data is scattered.
