I can tune to different frequencies when tuning the channels, It would be grand to know when I press crtl-o what signal strength I am getting from that channel.
There is an issue in that various tuners/drivers report signal strength and/or quality in different ways and on different scales. So therefore there's no obvious way for GB-PVR to show something like a bar graph or other qualitative indicator (like 'good', 'poor', 'excellent', etc.).
However, it might be enough for the ctrl-o screen simply show the raw numbers it gets from the tuner driver (ie, the same number that it shows in the native logs). The human operator would have to learn what the numbers actually mean.
I can't do anything. 'sub' is the only programmer of GB-PVR. Sorry if I worded my response in a way that suggested I was in a position to do anything.
I'm agreeing with you though, it'd be nice to have a signal strength indication. My comment was partly directed at sub; I was acknowledging there would be limitations, but suggested what is possible would be good enough. Of course, providing the raw signal numbers from the tuner with no explanation as to what they mean might result in an endless number of support threads on the subject which sub no doubt wishes to avoid.

ok, well can you display those raw numbers as percentages of the largest number? we have channels broadcast on different frequencies and its hard to know which one is the better signal.
Is there a way to use Hauppauge's signal meter for ATSC with GBPVR for users of Hauppauge tuners?
I can launch it in a window, but I would like to see it work in the fullscreen mode of PVRX2 if possible.
