Channel Changing a cable box (newb)?

I am trying to set up my system to change channels on a Rogers Digital box.

Basic configuration:
Hauppauge HVR-1600

Works in WinTV (changes the channels on the digital receiver perfectly)

I have tried the instructions from the GBPVR wiki with no luck.

How do I configure GBPVR to change the channels?

Things I have tried.

I have tried all of the source options from the config program

Select the video source you want to record as follows:

* “Internal Tuner” to record from the antenna socket on the PVR card using the internal TV tuner.
* “Composite, External Tuner” or “S-Video, External Tuner” to record using an external tuner connected through the S-Video or Composite socket on the PVR card
* “Fixed-Channel, External Tuner” to record using an external tuner connected through the antenna socket on the PVR card, on a fixed channel (e.g. older set top box)

If you have selected “Fixed-Channel, External Tuner”, select the Constant Channel that the external source resides on.

Selected "Fixed-Channel, External Tuner" got the best result so far,
Put it to channel 3 - at least gets a signal into the system.
(but have to change channels on the box).

What option did you choose for the channel changer (drop down box underneath the EPG source?)

You probably want the Hauppauge one.

I am not sure which drop down you are referring to.

I have the Remote Control type set to Hauppauge (from the DVD tab)

BTW, I can get a picture from the S-Video out of the cable box into GBPVR as well, very nice - just cant change channels yet.

The Channel changer on the "Edit Recording Source" is set to:

MCE IR Blaster Plugin.

Is that the one I should change?

So I changed that last one referenced to the .exe option

And selected HaupBlast.exe as the program and it worked perfectly.

Took some playing, but you pointed me in the right place and saved me hours of frustrated searching.

Now to fix daylight savings time on the schedules......
