Couldn't tell if this was support or wishlist:

I started watching a show, and my wife was giving my son a bath. About 5min into it, I decide to record it and watch when she's done. Since I'm hitting it while watching, I'll get everything I've seen so far, too. Not wanting to keep watching, I watch something else.

Result: Recording stops when I stop watching.

Half an hour later, same situation (now my son is being put to bed...yes I do some work around here, too Big Grin ). This time I think I'm being smart and bring up OSD guide, and hit quick reocrd there.

Result: This time it records when I stop, but not what is already recorded in timeshift.

Question: Am I doing this wrong, or do the two reocording types not work togther?

I love in timeshift (about 1/2 the reason I don't use preview) how if you hit record anytime while watching, you get everything you've seen. So either I'm doing something wrong, or I wish/think TS record should "stick" when you exit, or doing an OSD guide record should be able to think like TS record, and just continue existing file.

Anyway, put this in support in case this is a hole in logic. Move/consider wishlist if sub designed it so.

No, it's not an error or anything. I think it's just that
a) I'm surprised that when you hit record while watching, it doesn't keep recording when you exit.

and/or

b) using record/quick record (function, not button) does not use what you've watched already like hitting record in timeshift does.

I think it's either intentional, or just overlooked logic

Its intentional. I made it clear in the change.log when I implemented this feature, that this was the way it worked. Maybe in a future release I'll change it.

It would be a nice tweaker kind of thing to on/off in the config file. It's not horrible as it is. It would just be nice if possible to not only record what you've started watching but get the rest, too. It doesn't come up often (which is why I never noticed, I suppose), so I guess for now I can hit record, and then go to normal tv until the show is over.
