Also, the config keeps crashing and closing every other time it hits the first mux it finds channels on. If I try again, it works... not yet tried reinstalling.

Nick_Walton Wrote:Strength was -15000 and quality was 100%.How does that strength compare with the other muxs that still work OK with gbpvr? Now that you know the frequencies of the channels you can receive, try TSReader Lite (google for it - the Lite version is free) - it gives you much more detail about any given mux as well as showing thumbnails of the channels it picks up.

Having gone to run TSreader, I selected the generic hauppauge device and it didnt work - and now I'm unsure of how to change it to the 92000 source? Just says failed to start each time I run the program. Reinstalling TSreader didn't bring the selection window back.
Why do they change these things... analogue should just be lopped off now to get it over with, people in a ditch should get a dish ![]() Thanks again ![]()

I had the problem with making the wrong selection the first time I ran TSReaderLite. I'm sure I got around it by erasing the TSReaderLite install dir before re-installing - I think it's \program files\cool.stf\tsreaderlite.
AFAIR the correct selection is generic BDA device...

Yeah got that working now, had to find the entry in the registry. TSreader is showing the channels in the thumbnails, and I notice doing a scan in GBPVR it notices their is signal strength and quality, but doesn't add any channels.
I understand very little of what it's showing me however, so I've done a print screen that hopefully will be of some use. To me it would appear GBPVR is the problem, which is a shame because its great software. Just hope I can get it sorted ![]()

Your best bet is probably to scan with an older version. I have had big problems scanning with all the 1.3x versions, but using 1.2.9 I picked up all channels at the first time of asking. I have actually managed one successful scan (config didn't crash) with the current version but it picked up only a few channels.
Peterh was kind enough to upload 1.2.9 for me last week, you can get it here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/mdkddyjzoe...R10209.msi . If you're still stuck after that, let me know exactly which channels you want mappings for and I'll post them here.

BTW what version are you currently using?

Having quickly looked at some of those posts I can't recall if Dave was showing up on mine, I think it was. But then the Sony where I work and an iMac with a tv tuner (John Lewis) wouldn't get Dave at all, after messing around trying to get the F1 on it I couldn't be bothered to try and get dave back. In fairness to GBPVR it wouldn't be a problem if things hadn't been changed, I'm sure theres a reason.
Currently running 1.3.11, which has been pretty much perfect for my application until now. Giving up for tonight, ideally I'd like to stay away from older versions as I've had issues with the recording service just stopping randomly without me realising.

Have you applied this patch from the survival guide - it fixes a lot of scanning problems in 1.3.11 - significant if this was your first re-scan in 1.3.11

I'm not suggesting you run an older version permanently, just use it to get a channel scan done and then upgrade to the latest version. Worked for me. |
