Hauppauge HVR-1600 configuring remote

I have a system running windows XP that I have installed GBPVR on. I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600 installed and am trying to configure the remote. As you probably know the 1600 has a built in ir reciever and I would like to use that. What is the best way to do this? There are probably other threads on this but I have done some searching and found nothing. Could someone give me a link that tells me how to configure the remote or just tell me how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Assuming you have the Hauppauge IR software installed, you should only need to click the 'fix hauppauge remote setting' button in the config app.

I've got an HVR-1600 and use the remote, but I don't recall clicking the 'fix hauppauge remote setting' button. I've always just directly modified irremote.ini (the default Hauppauge IR remote config file). When you click the 'fix hauppauge remote setting' button, am I correct in thinking it just adds a section to irremote.ini for PVRX2, or does it also change some files in GBPVR?

Yes, thats all it does, along with a prompt telling you to restart the Hauppauge IR software (so that the new section is picked up).

On the "DVD & Remote" tab of the config app. Its a huge button.

did you choose the Hauppauge remote from the dropdown on that same config page?
