Gave it a try, but when I try using the 2nd device I get a "No signal detected. Please ensure that the antenna cable is connected or that the antenna signal is strong enough", and both of the bars below are empty.

So... there's no apparent solution to this problem? Sad

You can see if this makes a difference.

  1. Backup your config.xml
  2. Open config.xml in notepad (NOT wordpad) and change the following setting to "5" instead of "1".

Code:
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>1</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>

Thanks, I'll certainly give it a try when I get home Smile

Using your keyword (BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds) for search I found the following thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=37649&page=2, in which jman11 tweaks similar settings. I can easily play around the same way, but I'd really like to know what BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds, BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds and such means.

Is there any documentation for these config.xml settings?

(btw. I'm an IT sysadmin, so I wont make the rookie mistakes of editing config files with a text-formatting application like WordPad or Word Smile I use NotePad+ )

There's no documentation on config.xml sorry. BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds just tells Config to wait that number of seconds after tuning to decode the PSI data. It gives it a little longer for the data to be delivered. Not quite sure what BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds does but I think it might scan for that number of seconds once it detects the PSI data.

(I love Notepad++ btw)

Unfortunately, apart from a 4 second longer wait, it changed nothing Sad

I deleted the two log files, opened Config, did a rescan of Device 2 and exited Config. Attached log ScanOfDevice2NotWorking.zip

I then deleted the two config files again and did the same with Device 1. Attached log ScanOfDevice1WorkingFine.zip

Really hope there's a solution to this conflict
Everything looks ok in that log. It even looks like locks onto the signal, but the device never delivers any data.

Do you know for sure that the drivers support two devices in the one machine? ie, have you seen both tuners working in any software? Some devices dont support multiple devices.

Yes, the software that comes with the cards (TerraTec Home Cinema 5.125.00.663), list both devices in the drop down menu as "Cinergy C PCI Digital Tuner (1)" and "Cinergy C PCI Digital Tuner (2)".

I'm able to perform a successful scan on each individually (freq 378000-386000, step 8000, KS 6900, QAM 256), and with the PIP feature I can verify that they're able to deliver individual signals simultaneously.

Being ever-suspicious of software autodetecting stuff (PnP can be a bane to IT administration), I changed this line in config.xml:
Code:
<BDAAutoDetectTuner>true</BDAAutoDetectTuner>
to
Code:
<BDAAutoDetectTuner>false</BDAAutoDetectTuner>
Both cards are now able to pick up channels, view them live and record at the same time!!!!!! Guess I should have bought a lottery ticket with this stroke of luck Big Grin

I hope this makes sense to you sub. Are there any possible drawbacks to my configuration with this setting off?
