I made 3 recordings tonight -

A full show in TS - worked fine until crazy timeline kicked in with about 15 min left in a 2 hr recording

A full show with the Cyberlink mux - perfect

A 2 minute recording in WinTV - skipped and jerked all over the place

All recordings were from the same 1080i station - so it looks like WinTV has the same stuggles GBPVR does, but Cyberlink seemed to handle everything fine... I will stick with that for now and update if anything else happens....

Thanks a ton for the help, and for an awesome program Sub.

It'd be worth checking if that file plays in vlc without this problem. (to determine if its a recording or playback problem)

I get lots of errors (bad file, not a playback issue, as per mpeg2repair and various other processing programs) in my (QAM) transport stream files if I try and record more than one HD program at a time or sometimes if I'm playing back a file off the drive while it's recording. Even when two Hi-defs are back to back I'll often get some artifacts near the end of one file just when the other recording would have been starting up. I kind of assumed my drive was finicky somehow. I have a 16mb cache.

When I record just one HD file with nothing else around it, it usually contains very few errors.

I used to record Life and Lost in HD on Wednesdays, but they were usually so mangled that now I record Lost in HD and Life in SD.

Still trying to work out why some of my TS recordings hop, skip, and jump while others are sweet as.

Noticed that a recording I made on C4 (NZ DVB-T) last night was not playing properly and had been recorded with quality "High", while other recordings I had made were the default "Medium".

Secondly, VLC plays the "bad" C4 program fine.

So does TSReader (is that the default for PVRX2) have an issue with "High" quality? Or is that just a coincidence?

The quality settings are only used when you do an analog recordings. Digital recordings just ignore them (since the broadcaster sets the bitrate/resolution etc).

Sounds like the recording is fine then, but you're having playback problems.

If you can make a small sample available, I'll check it here. You can find a utility here that will cut a sample from a recording http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php...46&postcount=2. 40MB or so should be fine.

Great, what's the best way for me to get it to you? Attach to a posting? Compressed?

You'd need to upload it somewhere and then post the URL I can download it from. People that dont have access to a web server often use a free file service like megaupload.com

Here is the 40 Mb file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9PEBFIWN

It plays OK till the credits and the skips through fast before freezing on one of the production company logos (the clip ends on the first one, but it still skips through the credits).

Thanks sub
