For analog video, i use ffdshow to do a warped resize.. But for 1080i broadcasts, ffdshow can be a bit sluggish and id like to use a DXVA decoder like cyberlink. Could we have a feature to use a different decoder for digital mpeg2?

As far as GBPVR is concerned, both would be digital mpeg2 due to the hardware encoding of the analog channels. About the only thing sub could do would be to load a different filter depending on the video frame size. Something like that would not be fun to code though.

I was thinking more along the lines of assigning a certain decoder to each capture source.. so that inside the capture source's settings there could be a dropdown:

Video Decoder:
  • Use global setting (which would just use whatever you have in the main config)
  • List all other decoders found on the machine

Then upon watching Live TV, PVRX2 could build the graph by just checking what the corresponding decoder is for that particular capture source...

Have you looked at ffdshow preset loading?

You could set the cyberlink decoder as the default and ffdshow raw filter to only do a warped resize on the smaller frame sizes.

This works for watching a recording, but it doesn't work while watching live TV. (timeshift mode). Looks like GBPVR doesn't bring in the ffdshow raw filter when watching live TV, even if the ffdshow option is checked in the config.
