mvallevand Wrote:For those of you using this version I updated the client. There is an apparent problem in GBPVR going directly from an analog tuner to a digital tuner in LiveTV which causes the previous version to hang because data stops streaming.
With this version the video will show momentarily but there will be about a 10 second blank screen before GBPVR sends a screen update. The log is attached for sub.

I got this problem as well, except mine dropped back to the TVGuide.
Wow, getting back to 2 sec channel changing is wonderful. You guys must have done things very differently.
Until sub has time to look at it, when the screen goes blank if you hit TV mode it should re-start the broadcast you want and it still is faster than it takes the original way on the PCH. We did extend the Hauppauge protocol again but it is so much nicer programming without the MVP's limitations that I find it enjoyable.

Yep....I knew it would be fall-back non-enhanced in HDMI mode.

Ohhh....ok....so then whatever I have it set for on the PCH now takes control.....so if I set the PCH to HDMI it will = what it is today and if I switch the PCH to be component I'll get the new stuff....correct?

I tried it briefly last night and will test it more thoroughly tonight. One thing I did notice is that I would get black bars on 16:9 material when displayed on a 16:9 TV. Playing a TS from the PCH displays correctly. Playing a MKV from mvpcx2 displays correctly but playing a TS on mvpcx2 adds the bars. I can cycle though the zoom options and correct it but if I stop the show and play it again, the black bars are back.
Another thing I noticed is that when I rebooted the GBPVR server, the mvpcx2 on the PCH went black (loss of connection presumably) but the PCH didn't return to it's interface. It seemed to hang. It also seemed to hang when I hit stop after playing a MKV.
The comskip support is impressive so Kudos on making it work.
Regarding the screen size during beta testing there was a bit of discussion over whether Fit or Full should be the default to fill the screen. My original choice was Fit but I went with Full because I was told that is how the PCH seems to work. I've been confused about this from the beginning, on the PCH I have bothered figuring out what they mean. If you switch your default from Fit to Full (or vice-versa) I expect it will do want you want.
I restart the recording service often and it usually goes to the PCH, but this is not guaranteed even with the older version. The exit logic should not be any different in this version. You are running in PCH2 mode correct?
I will look into mkv, I know I don't reset the libraries after returning, but I have found that they do so themselves (after about a 10 second wait). If this continues to be an issue I will add the reset. Keep me advised.
