They aren't the newest builds but the newest builds change some x264 arguments that that my script hasn't been updated with. Try a newer build and see if it errors out again.

Ok, that made the difference. Reason I took the version I had was that it was recommended in the wiki. There are warnings about slower versions in the wiki. Is that still true. How do I know which one to use? Now I just took the latest one (mplayer2008.02.06.7z ).

Thanks,

The Wiki recommends Mplayer-mingw32–1.0pre8 for DVD ripping. The build you have should have runtime detection enabled so it should be a good match for your CPU. The slower versions in the past were from the official Mplayer page.

Stattik,
Having some problems with cutting commercials with mencoder. The .edl is fine but according to a couple people too much is being cut (by a lot) from parts of the file. Have you seen any issues with .edl commercial cut and mencoder? I sort of think I have heard of an issue with timestamps not starting at zero, or messed up timestamps causing an issue but I figured I would check with you first.

I've heard of issues with cutting transport streams. Not sure why but most likely muxer related. If you run into any issues where nothing is getting cut when working with transport streams, it's most likely because comskip isn't configured to create edlp files which use the actual timestamps. The edlp file would then be used to cut the show. The muxer issues may still persist though.

When you do a cut, do you use -ovc copy?
Also do you use the -hr-edl-seek?

I only use "-ovc copy" when copy and cutting a file, but not during transcoding.

-hr-edl-seek is not on by default but can be enabled by setting

Code:
SET hr-edl-seek=yes

In my early testing, enabling hr-edl-seek caused the audio to drop out after the first cut on certain recordings which is why I left it as an option.

That makes sense. I wouldn't think hr-edl-seek would work right with a copy anyway. It makes more sense if you do a decode and encode.

Hey stattik. When I use this script (5.1f) it won't close after its done. I can't tell if I need to pass it another parameter or what. It runs then finises with Script is finished. but doesn't close its DOS window and because of that the rest of my batch scripts can't continue.

It is called like this:
Code:
start /wait "stattik script" stattik_transcode_0.5.1f.bat %1

That is how I used to call v 0.2; I take it something changed.

Thanks; its working great for my .ts files.

There were a lot of changes between 0.2 and 0.5.1f but I'm not sure what would cause it to end up link that. I would add an EXIT after ENDLOCAL at the end of the script. That should do it.

that didn't fix it either; exit at the very end did bad things like not transcoding and then the next part of my scripts deleted the original.

Other ideas; perhaps how I"m calling it?
