running the script fails while trying to cut the commercials from the mpeg file.
PARSE_MPEG12: add_frames(47612) failed, exit

the script has worked well for me before but has just started doing this - I haven't changed anything as far as I know.

Thanks for the great work

Sounds like a mux issue either with the source or with mencoder.

What version of mencoder are you using? How many files has this happened to?

thanks for replying
Its strange but it happens to all files now. I even tried an mpg that had previously worked and it too failed. Using latest processor specific Athlon 64 mencoder. I even downloaded an unaltered batch file to test. Very strange - I wonder if comskip is screwing up the cut and copy in some way? Of course, I havn't changed anything on that either...

comskip doesn't cut. It just marks.

I would trying a different version of mencoder. Perhaps an older one.

Hi there, I've just started using GB-PVR and have just started trying to figure out this script so I can automatically encode my recordings. But my first annoying problem (of what will probably be many to come, including the one when I enabled comskip and the script stalled on the first line *sigh* Smile) is that the script fails after selecting the type of encoding to do, but I can't see the error because the command window closes down after the script finishes...is there any way to pin open the window so I can see the error?? I tried running the BAT file with a window I opened with CMD instead of drag/drop, but then I got different errors about missing numbers and invalid operands...

I added some code that I'm using in a rewrite of this script. It should keep the window open but it hasn't been tested very much. Turn echo on (line 1) if you want verbose output but it will be very detailed. The updated script is attached.

Hi stattik, thanks for the upload. Unfortauntely now that I can see the errors, they're not helping me much! Seems like something simple but I can't see where the problem is (not that I understand half the code in the script anyway lol)

When I try to run your new version, I get this:

Variables loaded. Script is starting.
\ was unexpected at this time

and the script terminates. When I copied the new code at the top of the new script (to keep the window open) into the older version and ran it with the same TS file, the old script first asks me what transcode method and profile I'd like to use (which the newer one doesn't), and after pressing option 1 and 1, I get this:

Invalid number. Numbers are listed to 32 bits of precision
Missing operand
0 was unexpected at this time

Let me know if you need more info first, but any ideas what's going wrong here?

set guide_mode=yes to get asked about transcode method and profile

The errors are probably related to the EDL file but you can set the first line to "@ECHO on" and then run the script. Choose the same options and when the script stops post the results here. You may have to set the line buffer on your window to 9999.

Post both versions of the script as well.
