I'm new to gbpvr. I just bought a MEDIAMVP (wireless/flash version). I was able to get Mediamvp to boot up gbpvr. But when I try to click on "net radio" MEDIAMVP reboots and says, it can't locate the GUI server but eventually returns back to the first GBPVR screen.

Has anyone seen this error before?

I also get the same error when I try playing a stream through Ubustream but I think that's expected since ubustream channel mode does not work with PVRX2.

Is there a way to video online video through the MEDIAMVP?

Thanks,
Aliusa

For Internet Radio, the recording directory needs to exits and be writable,

Also uburadio works with PVRx2 so I am pretty sure that ubustream does do, you have to be able to set up the old style skin, I just don't remember offhand how to do this.

Martin,

I was able to get some of the prepopulated net radio stations to work. I think for stations where the link is broken it causes MEDIAMVP to reboot. I will experiment a bit more.

I'm using Community3 for the skin. I think that's the compatible one. I tried almost everything to get Ubustream channel to work through mediamvp. Results: bleh! It reboots saying it can't find the a gui server.

I tried: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=21557

I have a pair of MVPs, one wired (older model) and one wireless -- I noticed that the older model is faster than the new (wireless) model even though I'm using a wired connection for both. Have you noticed that too?

Thanks

1) No, I don't have a problem with broken links, maybe aac+ streams cause a problem.

2) I'm not going to spend time on Ubustream but check what Fatman_do says here

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=10

3) I haven't noticed a difference with the wireless model other than boot up time. Most of the hardware is too similar, so this is unlikely.

Im making some progress... I reinstalled everything.

I have a VLC and External Recorder question now. If I have a stream lets say, mms://blah and I want to transcode it on fly so I can view it in MVP how do I set up the source in config?

I thought I had it -- I'm able to transcode a stream and view it over PVRX2.exe but when I try it from MVP it reboots. I might have to adjust my delays but there are so many different places to make that adjust I'm a bit a lost.

If someone has been able to stream a video over VLC to their MVP I would like to know your configuration.

Any guidance will go a long way.

Thanks!

...

I'm able to successfully manually record and view a stream through the external recorder. So theoretically timeshift play should work. But it doesn't. When I try to view the stream through the Guide it just reboots.

I upped the wait/delay time to 10000/10000 still no go. I think upped it even more same results.

Here is tail of log file before MVP restarts:

The Hauppauge dongle timeouts after 10 seconds, maybe try mvpmc?

Martin,

Is that defined somewhere in dongle.bin or hardcoded in the hardware?

I was using the dongle.bin that came with the latest GBPVR release then I downloaded the one from haup website (non beta) same results.

Did you mean setup mvpmc or just get the dongle?

Thanks

There have been issues with the latest versions of VLC with the GBPVR server. I use the 0.8.6h server side and 0.9.9 at the client side
