my appologies. I missunderstood how the recycle bin works.

At least is was not a loss as you have pointed out.

sub Wrote:It took about three lines of code to delete the file normal system recycle bin. It'll probably take about 50 for a confirmation window, and will require a new skins file and changes to every GB-PVR skin etc.

So...what you're basically saying is that there is a legitimate reason why I am not a programmer beyond entry level pascal, cobol, and fortran in college? Big Grin Look, I don't want to have to brag about my QuickBasic skills....

I would've never thought it would take that much for a "Delete? Y/N" prompt, but you would definitely be the one to know. I hope you weren't insulted by my trivial, "Just add in this easy confirmation for delete" comment! We just all need to be a bit more careful with what buttons we push. It's not like GBPVR is designed for someone who shouldn't already know better, right?

I only encounter accidental deletes when using the MVP anyway. AND, more often than not, I tend to click the "Cancel" button thinking that I'm just cancelling back to the main menu, and I discover that I just cancelled my recording! Hey, just throw in a couple of lines of code for a "Cancel? Y/N" confirmation, okay? Haha. Big Grin

I think I'll leave "the room" and let the programmers talk now...:p

GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally
insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.

Sub, would you consider adding an option to send deleted files to the recycle bin?

I did add this in v0.95 or something like that but removed it in the next release. It created more problems than worth.

Any file that you delete is still on your pc until the spot it occupies is overwritten by another file. If you have recorded other files to the same directory since you removed the file from the MBR(deleted) then all or part of the file may have been overwritten already. The only way to really delete a file is to "wipe" it with a 3rd party utility by writing zeroes or random data to the spot it occupies on the disc. Norton has utilities that will save all your files for recovery, I think in "system works", works well, because it keeps the files form being overwritten for some time.

I realize this thread is pretty old, but I've deleted at least a few recordings because the 'delete' button is directly below the 'play' button.

Sub, would you think about switching the placement of the 'close' and 'delete' buttons? so at least if you've got an itchy remote finger, you won't delete that video your wifes waiting to watch. :o

Are you aware of the "Confirm delete" options? It helps my butter fingers...

See the wiki at Config/Miscellaneous.
