Love GBPVR, it is so much better than the rubbish WinTV.

My Nova-TD has twin tuners, I can get both to work fine with WinTV, proved by looking at the signal meters and recording 2 things at once.

I can get 1 tuner working fine with GBPVR, but am having problems with the second.

No matter which source I add in GBPVR config it always actually uses tuner 1 and if I add 2 different ones at the same time it crashes GBPVR.

There are 5 options for cards apparently in my machine (NovaTD, NovaTD Tuner1, NovaTD Tuner2, WinTV#1, WinTV#2).

GBPVR crashes with a .net error and a GBPVR error "unable to start device, check it is configured properly and not in use"

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Andy

I suspect you need to create two capture sources, one for 'NovaTD Tuner1' as device #1, the other for 'NovaTD Tuner2' also as device #1.

If that doesnt help, can you run filtercheck.exe, then attach the filtercheck.log?

Cheers Sub!

Quick reply and spot on - the trick was to create 2 capture sources with the same device no.

Doesnt really make sense to me?? But it works so I am happy :-)

Thanks

It isn't so much the hardware as the device driver as to whether it makes it look like two separate devices (as Hauppauge currently does) or as a dual device. The 'device number' refers to the logical device number of a multiple tuner board if the driver treats it as such (a single "name"). If the tuner name changes then the device number resets to 1.

I have the same issue, i have the nova-t 500 with dual tuners. The trouble i get is about 20 minutes into recording two different channels at the same time(using tunner1 and tuner 2, devices) it will blue screen my computer and crash. I have in the options when setting up a digital source:
hauppauge nova-t-500 dvb-t (1)
hauppauge nova-t-500 dvb-t (2)
hauppauge nova-DT #1 dvb-t
hauppauge nova-DT #2 dvb-t

not really sure which one to pick.

Currently i have hauppauge nova-t-500 dvb-t (1) and (2) both setup as device number 1. In my device manager the card shows up as Hauppauge nova-dt dual dvb-t tuner device. Once my current recording has finished i will try delete my current devices and add the hauppauge nova-DT #2 dvb-t ones instead. Hopefully that fixes it.

thanks

With my nova-t-500 I went with the first two in your list and control panel reports the same device as yours. I'm using driver version 4.3.25080.0 and have had no problems with blue screens over a long, ling time.

Unfortunately that'll be a driver problem, not a GB-PVR configuration problem. You'll already have the correct device selected or you wouldnt have got this far.

If you have the older nova-t 500 and using xp sp3 its problem with a few files that were updated with sp3. If you dont have either then forget what I said.

I am using 4.3.25080.0 also, I don't have sp3 but i have all the files that make up sp3 slipstreamed into my install. So what do I need to do to fix these files?

You need to visit the hauppauge forum http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showpos...tcount=324 , you need to check the usbechi versin you have installed.
