I have been using Live TV without problems for over a year. Now live tv is out of sync with my cable box. When I go into live tv it stays on the last channel I was watching but changes my cable box to channel 3, and I get a black screen with screeching audio. If I navigate GBPVR to channel 3 I get back in sync. Then, when I change my box with the remote, live tv reflects the channel that the tv is on but the controls at the bottom of the live tv screen stay on channel3.

I have had a couple of other problems lately but have resolved them with the help of GBPVR's knowledgable members.

The only change that I made before my problems started was to add custom tasks for Hulu and Zinc.

how is your cable box connected to your capture card? rf coax cable? or svideo or composite? check your config capture card settings, sounds like they've changed...
only set source to 'fixed channel, internal tuner' if you're using screw-on coax connector to box..
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie

OK, think I have found the problem. Don't know how I haven't noticed before, but I rarely watch live tv.

Tuner 1 is a firewire connection and I have my configuration to use Timm Moore's STB Controller to change channels. Tuner 2 is an unsupported Avermedia Bravo and I also had this configured to use the same channel changer.

I have just removed this .exe channel changer from my tv tuner card and live tv works..with the exception that the controls always show channel 3 irrespective of the channel I am watching.

Now, however, my recordings no longer work. If I am recording a channel from my firewire connection everything is fine. When I record a channel that has 5c encryption my tv guides will force my tv tuner to take over the recording. With no channel changer configured, the channel always changes to channel 3 and I record whatever is on that channel during my scheduled recording.

I realize that this is far from being a 'normal' setup, but is there any way to configure my capture devices to do what I want?

If my box is being set to channel3 when i click live tv, is there some way i can make gbpvr go to the same channel instead of the last channel viewed?

Just a thought. I have used both the sofware recorder and external recorder plugins and was wondering if it is possible to edit the bda.ini configuraion so my card will be recognized? It is a digital terrestrial (ATSC)/analog (NTSC) TV receiver module with software encoding. At least that 's what the specs say. Would be very grateful if someone could give me some guidance.

The bda.ini stuff can only be configured to use devices with BDA drivers. I'm guessing this doesnt have BDA drivers?

Sub,

Thanks for the response. I am at work right now but I recall that the codecs I had to configure for the external recorder plugin were all prefixed with something like BDA analog 716A tuner, crossbar, capture etc..
I do know that graphrecorder had codecs for my card in the BDA sections.

If you run the filtercheck.exe from the gbpvr directory, then attach the filtercheck.log file, I'll be able to tell. "tuner, crossbar, capture" are typically names used with analog filters though, not BDA filters.
