I made an interesting discovery the other day with respect to this thread. In ATI CCC, under the 3D options, I change Anisotropic Filtering and Anti-Aliasing to the check box setting of Use application Specific settings which I believe effectively turns them off for GBPVR.
The play back is dramatically better. Now only extremely fast pans combined with motion of the objects in the picture cause a studder. There are more options in there, I haven't played with them all.
I'm not sure what these setting do with respect to MPEG2 playback. But so far I haven't noticeably seen a reduction in picture quality. Anyone else played with these settings?
That's what I have them set to and have no loss of picture quality for video playback. I've recently installed the latest patches to PDVD8 and haven't since noticed any H264 stutters, but I really need to watch a whole football game to convince myself they've gone.
