The way I understand it, you can recommend but you can't sell a machine with it pre-installed and you can't charge to put it on the machine for them. Since the EULA has to be accepted by the end user, they need to be the one to install it. I believe you can however assist them in configuring it once they install it but sub would need to speak definitively on that point or not.

I've been wondering about that too. Where is the commercial use line drawn? Obviously selling a "GB-PVR MediaCenter System" would be way over the line, as would any form of selling the software.

While most of my clients are businesses, the owners of those businesses do sometimes have me do stuff on their home systems (I couldn't afford to hire me, but they can); media center things do come up on occaision, and they ask what I run.

So what do I do when the day arrives that a paying customer asks me about media center software, and what they want exactly matches what GB-PVR does?

Indeed, this more or less came up just last week. A guy had purchased a Sony media center type system (one of those all-in-ones with the computer built in to the screen, running Vista Home Premium), and also a Sony laptop running Vista Business. After I confgured vista media center on the desktop system and had live TV working, he mused that it would be nice if he could watch TV through the laptop while sitting on the porch. I said I didn't think that was possible, and left it at that.... but of course we all know it would be possible with GB-PVR.
