Hello.
I am an old user of GBPVR and, at the moment I am running 0.9.3.10 in an nold XP machine using an ATI550pro with no problems for a long time now.
To be honest, all I do is view and record TV on that old machine and GBPVR does the job wonderfully.
Having aquired some time ago another ATI550pro, I decided to install it on a more recent PC with Vista and install GBPVR as well, to go on viewing and recording the same way, so that I could upgrade and reinstall the system in the old machine with no interruptions in my recordins.
The new(?) PC configuration is (well, it is a couple of monthes old, to be honest):
Intel Core 2 E8400, 4GB RAM, Asus P5K-E, Ati 550 pro, Vista Ultimate 32 bits.
It runs TV on Windows media centre and Nero Home with no problems, but I do not like either very much.
I installed GBPVR 1.3.11, left all the defaults and after configuring the card and adding some channels, entered the main menu to discover that Live TV, TV guide and Manual Recordins just did not work, I mean, nothing happened when I clicked the first two, and was sent back to the main menu when choosing Manual Records.
I gave the forum a look and as a result I installed vcredist_x86 with no results, I think it wouldn't be needed, but, just to be safe...
Then, looking further on, and not being familiar with this new version, I noticed that my config stated that the supplied dongle would not work with Vista, so I downloaded the alternate one. I know, it is silly, but it is not hard to try if you do not know very well what you are doing.:mad::mad:
Well, it worked!!!! I could enter Live TV and all the rest, I made some recordings, added the rest of the channels and I thought I was in paradise, everything up and running.
It lasted untill I rebooted the machine, today I have the same problem again, no Live TV etc.
Could someone please help me by giving a hint where to start debugging? I am a rookie with these new versions of GBPVR and I really need some help.
Something is wrong, but, where to start?
Thanks in advance.
JL
