I am new at this and i am having a problem that I need help with.

I am losing sound in live TV about 15 seconds or so into watching any given channel. If back out to the guide and go back to the channel, the sound works again for about 15 seconds. Sound is solid for the first 5-10 seconds, then it crackles and quickly degrades to no sound. It happens on both digital and analog channels.

TV recordings work fine, no glitches in playback for both digital and analog (I haven't tested anything longer than about 5 minutes).

I keep thinking this is a codec problem, but I've tried a bunch of different audio codecs with the same exact result. I had a similar problem with my video at first (stuttering and stopping), installing SageTV fixed that, so it looks like GBPVR is using that video codec (this is sure to be another problem when I uninstall Sagetv).

WinTV, SageTV, and Mediaportal all play live TV fine. I spent the weekend installing and playing with these 4 programs and GBPVR has the system and the support community that I like the most.

I'm attaching all of my logs, I have no plugins that I know of.
Version 1.3.11
Tuner: Hauppauge 2250
Video: ATI HD4550
Processor: AMD X2 5600

If anybody has any ideas, I would be very grateful.

Cheers,

CJ

It'll be related to the audio (or even video) decoder that you're using. Try some other decoders and I'm sure you'll a combination that works.

I fixed the problem by going to the ATI website and installing current video drivers. I know I really should have done that first Wink, but look at all the knowledge I gained by researching all the possible problems/fixes! After installing the new drivers, almost all of the decoder combos I tried worked fine.

Thanks for the quick reply sub!
