Has anyone got XMLTV Automate to install correctly. I have downloaded it from several mirrors. Only to end up with an error at the end of the install stating that there could be an issues with the package?

Doug

Scratch that... It seems there there is a about a meg differance between the Authors site and the mirrors on Sourceforge.

I also was a bit confused about xmltv untill i got xmltv automate. This is an awesome program! and really simplifies the task of downloading the proper data in the proper format. I haven't had any issues regarding installation or use with this program. Is this on a fresh install of Windows?

I am getting a chance again to try to get GBPVR to work.

I need assistance on the user name and password. On this machine I do not have a log in when it boots.

Xmltv still giving me the null set. I have gone back and read the site but must not be getting it right.

Thanks
LS

I use XMLTV Automate too. I think it's a great tool. I just didn't know I couldn't update the guide by clicking on update epg on configuration.

Can someone tell me where this update.bat file is, I've looked thru the GB-PVR directory and can't find it. Do I have to create it myself and will GB-PVR automatically look for and find it?

Any help?
Thanks

Sure. It's called updateEPG.bat. If it's not in your gb-pvr directory (not sure if it's there from the beginning or not) you can just create it for yourself. Anything you write in there will be executed before GB-PVR updates its EPG guide.

That's great, thanks Stefan. "updateEPG.bat" and not "update.bat" right?
....and GB-PVR will look for it automatically will it? I don't have to set anything in config?

Thanks very much for the help. Smile

hvcpvr Wrote:How about a plugin that could be manually run for whatever days you want to download. With the xmltv _dd i'm able to download a few days in just a few minute.

i wrote a plugin which grabs & loads (or just grabs/just loads) the tv-infos.
i had to write it, because i was never able to get xmltv automate running.

the problem was that my tv-compy has a WLAN connection (a cheap no-name-taiwan-wlan-pci-card...) which needs a couple seconds to establish a connection with my WLAN router after windows has finished starting.
as it seems _too_ many seconds. by the time xmltv runs and trys to grab, there is no (inernet-)connection available.

at the moment, this plugin, has the status 'works for me' (some hardcoded stuff and no config window, but it is at least skinnable :-)).

hvcpvr: if you still need such a thing i can give it to you (after i really finished it.).

sub: i did not think many user need such a plugin, so i never planned to publish it. or should i?

greetings from switzerland
