PIN-code protection of folders

Some folders in Video Library, and perhaps some recordings too, may have content that are not suitable for children. There should be a function for specifying a pincode that must be entered before the folder is allowed to be opened/watched. This code can be specified in the Folder tab in config app, ie. if no code is given gbpvr will not ask for a pincode when attempting to open a folder.

Isn't there a plugin that does this? I could use it too, but I can't seem to narrow down which one looking in the wiki.

I think XRecord and VideoArchive support password functions. These two plugins may have limited 3rd party skin support.

But the VA plugin seems to be abandoned, and probably won't work in the next release, the beta version is groving old and nothing more happends...

I been fiddling with XRecord, It isn't being too friendly, but I will keep trying. I got most to work with Blue Retro SHV skin, but not all. Will post back if I have better results.

I give up on XRecord, and Video Archive doesnt look like it would work well with recordings. The original Recordings and Video Plugins work good. I second this wishlist request. It would be a good feature, I dont know how one could PIN a recording, but my video archive I would like to have a few folders password protected.

I'v tried the XSUITE too and found it behaves a bit strange sometimes, and it doesn't see all my movies eighter.

moviewiz plugin has password protection functionality that works reasonably well

I think Id like to see it folder-based as well.. (vs via some epg rating or via recording etc). I dont record anything, all my stuff goes into the Videos section.

If you report a bug, I usually fix it pretty quick. If some file extensions you use are not supported, you can add them in the XRecord skin under ConverterElement. I'm not aware of any hard coding left in XSuite, what skinning were you not able to accomplish? |
