Just installed and configured based on the quick start guide, created a new Zap2It profile, but EPG won't update.

Any thoughts?

What happens when you click the 'Update EPG' button? Depending on the number of channel you have, the speed of your internet connection, speed of your PC, and the available RAM, this first update can take quite a while.

For most people this complete in a few minutes, but there have been reports of some users with limited RAM, large channel lineups and limited internet speed taking up to 40 minutes for this first update. Subsequent updates are much quicker.

Man, I have not been able to update zap2it for many many version issues. Always the same - error message when trying to update and of course, not schedule, no channels. Then I reinstall OLD version and can then update zap2it but, of course, no schedule, although I can search.

Sub, I would send you money if you could get this to work. I have written to you before about this without avial. Any suggestions.
Thanks,
JrJohnson.

Hey, thanks for the answer. Next time I tried, it connected and downloaded fine. Must have just needed some time for my profile to update on the Zap2It site. BTW, what happens in 90 days when my membership expires?

My guess? You'll probably have to renew your membership. Rolleyes

After 90 days zap2it usually require you to complete a survey, then they renew for another 90 days. This has been whats happened over the last year.

I dont which error message you talking about. I know you possibly email me or posted here before, but after reading so many of these, they're all a blur...

There are no known issues with GB-PVR's zap2it EPG (and hundreds/thousands using it with no problems), so if you are getting an error message when you do an 'Update EPG', its almost certainly either a firewall or other software on your machine getting in the way, or you zap2it account details are incorrect, or your zap2it account has expired.

Feel free to post the details again if you want.

I have to add that I have done a reload of my system in the last couple of hours and I'm trying to set GBPVR back up and I cannot update the EPG through the config tool on the initial setup of my capture cards. I have two seperate Zap2It accounts and both will not work. Here is the error:

Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG source settings and try again.

Here is what is in my config.exe.log:

I can login at labs.zap2it.com with no problems. I'm guessing this is a problem with Zap2It....can anyone else confirm if they can update the EPG through the config tool?

The error above is quite clear. Zap2it are producing XML file that has an error at line 10270, column 138. If you want to email me your username and password, I'll tell you exactly what is wrong with that line of the zap2it data.
