Jaggy, here is the most active link but it won't help Syabas are very aware of the problem and the limitations is the major jump in the firmware which could break many things (including mvpmcx2) for the sake of the small number of potential buyers who need this.

For those of you using this thread to gather information before considering buying an NMT what psycik is referring to is the lack of "HE-AAC-LC audio support" at the moment, this affects NZ DVB-T (not DVB-S) & Brazil and Norway.

@mvallevand Would it be worth another round of messages on the NMT forum about this? While it doesn't directly affect me I would be willing to add my voice(message) to a thread if it would help get this resolved & I would hope there are quite a few more current NMT+GB users who would do the same.

Thanks for that Martin, permissions were part of the problem. Had to get out in a hurry this morning so couldn't fully test, but I did get beyond the sticking point last night. And can access the gbpvr.htm file, yet on executing it from the PCH I get a 3 x GBPVR option menu, and regardless of the option I select I get "Request cannot be processed" - press return. Anyone any ideas on this problem please?

Hi folks!

After many years of using 3 media-mvp's in the house the time has come to change things here. So i bougth my first PCH and now i'm trying to get things working. The first steps are nog very succesfull but i'm sure i do something wrong and it's just a matter of good reading and following instructions. However I'm very glad with the excistance of gbpvr, the media-mvp's and now the PCH.

@JanBoeren Don't read too much. If you can't find it in the stickies, you probably will use obsolete information and never spend more that one hour on this, it is typically something simple.

@ leaded1 I thinh the refurb PCH's are going to be like the $40 MVP's at Radio Shack a few years ago, people are going to be mad at themselves for not taking advantage.

Those $40 MVP's at Radio Shack were my entry point into GBPVR. I've been craving a PCH for some time now, and after reading here about the refurbs available, well, placed my order yesterday.

So what's the delivery time on those? Soon we'll see if I pass the dummy test, or how many new posts I can rack up on the support forum.

I have no doubt that I will be back to this thread with high praise for all.

I too bought one of the $40 MVP's at Radio Shack several years back. I took it home and played with it a bit and went back to the store to buy another. Later, indeed as a result of owning the MVP, I found GBPVR.

I purchased a refurb PCH after reading this post yesterday. With the fall lineup coming, I want to be prepared. I think the work that was done to bring support to these devices is awesome. I may punt my MVP out the back door!

I received my refurbished A-100 PCH last Friday; it took about 30mins to get it working with GBPVR, it would have been much faster if I hadn't used lower case letters when entering the MAC address into NMTInstall ..Doh!

IMHO GBPVR with a NMT is an amazing combination.


Plus as an added bonus HDTV now streams without any problem over the Homeplug powerline network in my house (box says 200Mbps- avg reported speed 180Mbps).. This never worked when I used the PC as a client.

P.S. To be honest I wish it had given me more issues ; I'd have an excuse to post more on this forum
