Wireless MVP does not play video

Hi,

I've recently been given a Wireless MVP - Model 86018 Rev H3 Lot 3506. This is setup in wired mode.

I currently own a wired MVP and also a Popcorn Hour.

From the config app I've added another MVP server and started it.

The MVP startsup fine and I can move around GBPVR with no probs.

However when I try to play some recorded TV the screen goes black and then goes back to the GBPVR menu.

I've tried other dongles but no joy.

Anyone have any ideas? :confused:

I'm guessing the "some" recordings are digital mpeg-ts streams, which the MVP doesn't handle well. Set your config to start just one MVP server, power off the PCH, and then compress and upload the logs after you try and load the file into the MVP.

Hi Martin, thanks for the reply.

I've just come back to the problem today. The files are straight forward .mpg, I am able to play them on my other non-wireless MVP.

I had alook on hauppauge's website and came across a similar problem. The fix was to install the hauppauge software and check the config.

In the config you can change from NTSC <> PAL, mine was set to NTSC. I've switched to PAL. Put the MVP back into GBPVR and now it works. :confused:

I'm not going to try to understand why it now works but for some reason it did.

The original problem was I was unable to play any video/rec TV on my wireless MVP(used in wired mode).
I currently own a old MVP and a pch-a110. Both play fine, however when I tried to play the same files on this new MVP the screen would go black and then to the main menu. Nothing obvious in the logs either.

I've written this post really incase anyone else has a similar problem.

The Hauppauge dongle won't play PAL on NTSC and vice-versa so that makes sense.
