Hi all,

I wonder if someone can shed light on this, it has been bugging me for ages but have put up with it until now!

I am using XML as an EPG source but one particular programme gets listed twice with a different time on it, this is a pain as it is one I record. It shows up with a start time before it really starts and only shows as 60 minutes long. Immediately after that is the 2nd listing for the programme with the correct start time and length of 65 minutes. The data in the EPG .xml appears correct and it is not listed twice in that

Attached listing as it is in .xml and screenshots of the problem.

Any help most appreciated.

Cheers

Steeb

Do you have the 'complete epg reload' option selected in the config app? You need to.

Even with this set, there is a situation that can cause this to happen. When the application does an EPG update it deletes all the listings, and all the pending season recordings, then pulls in the new listings, and recreates any season recordings. The on proviso is that at the beginning of the EPG update process it will not remove listings associated with one-off recordings, or for the master entry of a season recording (ie, the very first show used to create that season recording). So... if you schedule a one-off recording on "Scrapheap Challenge" from 7:10-8:10, then a few days later the listings change the times, the original entry will still be there.

This problem doesnt occur with season recordings.

I'd check the logs as well to make sure the "empty epg" is actually taking place.
I used to have a similar problem and for some reason (and I'm damned if I can remember what it was ** see p.s.) there was an error updating the EPG on an obscure tuner any error updating any EPG would seem to prevent the empty epg bit running.
I also got rid of a lot of overlaps by reducing my radio times EPG from 14 days down to 7 days.

p.s. ** (hmmm, didi I have it set to no EPG as it was for manually grabbing from s-video??)

Thanks so far,

I do have complete EPG reload, will check logs etc to see if I can investigate further.

Cheers

Thanks for pointers,

logs looked OK, emptied EPG for all sources, tweaked XMLTV download of EPG to 7 days as sounded a good idea (didn't know I could do that!) Cancelled all season recordings still listed, reloaded EPG, no double entries, fantastic!

Cheers
