This has got the better of me (hence this post) and you guidance would be appreciated.

I have it (Haupauge WinTv Nova TD 500 Pci) installed and configured (as Hauppauge Nove TV Tuner 1 (and 2 seperately)).

DVB EPG loads and matches to found channels (East Midlands).

Recording occurs (TS files created in appropriately named folders)

However on selecting recordings for playback, and selecting play nothing happens. The box with 'play' button closes and leaves GBPVR at the program detials screen.

What should I check, try or alter next?

thanks

Have you specified a Video Decoder in the Playback tab of config.exe?

Make sure you've got the patches from the survival guide installed.

Downloaded the following from there, copied to GBPVR folder, re-registered filters, restarted recording service and rebooted PC. - still no playback

GBPVRBackendCommon.dll dated 21 Jan 2009
NativeUtilities.dll dated 2 Mar 2009
GBPVRTSMon.ax dated 2 Mar 2009
GBPVRTSReader.ax dated 3 Mar 2009
PsiParser.ax dated 2 Mar 2009

Is the TS file playable in other apps like VLC? ie, is it a valid video file.

Ah. Just installed VLC and no, the TS files are not playable. So perhaps it is the record that is failing rather than playback! But, where tdo I go to fix it (live TV is ok - well was till I re-booted so am off to fix that now)

FIXED -- YIPEE
changed two things
1) Misc2 DBA Mulitplexer to Microsfot DVR-MS (was full TS)
2) Playback PVRX2,exe Video Renderer to EVR (was VMRcustom)

will nail it down to one once I have done some more checks - but can play back now

Notice recorded files are not TS anymore but dvr-ms

Definitely dont use the 'Full TS' option. That is only for producing debug streams for supplying to me if requested.

The 'TS Mux' option is the default should results in .ts files that play correctly.

TS Mux seems to record video but not sound, so have reverted to the MS-DVR-MS setting for now (replay is in correct aspect ratio, where as Live Tv isnt)

I'll get there!!
