I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, or cared, but...

The current time displayed for "Update Time", is the time the weather data stream has in it. So you could have a couple updates before that time changes, yet the maps get update with newer information before the weather data itself does.

So....
Should I change the update time to show the last time Weather2 updated, or leave it as is?

From what you describe, the Satellite and Radar screens may have newer data than the Overview screen.

How about this? Leave the Update as is on the Overview screen (since the time as displayed now reflects when the data was actually updated by the source) and change the field on the Satellite and Radar screens to be "Last Retrieved" and have the appropriate time from when the Weather2 plugin last retrieved data) displayed.

I'm always for giving the user enough information so they can understand the data and its context.

Hmmm, I like this idea...

Any complaints over LewE's idea?

Yes I like LewE's idea also.

I have been trying to figure out what this time meant so a quick question about it. The current display I have is displaying "Update Time: 11:38 AM (GMT +12:00)" at the moment but the current time is 10:23am? This seems to be saying the data was updated in the future??

I have another couple of questions about the way it displays time, from memory it is displaying in US format (9/3/2009) in some areas which is rather confusing when you are used to 3/09/2009.

I like the idea too. The overview should have the data time like "as of 12:25pm" or whatever.

On the other hand, the time that "tickers" by as the radars images are animating are kinda hard to read in the outside corner from across the living room. So how about to add to LewE's idea, if you have animated radars or sattelites, is it possible to get out of the data to display "Radar from 9:30am to 11:00am" or something of that sort and display that in the skin instead? Sorry, this is the best way I can describe it.

Then use the ISO format, YYYY/MM/DD and confuse everyone but maybe me and engineer types.

Jaggy---
I don't know why it would be giving you that time. I pull the time right from the source, along with the GMT zone. If you notice it again, send me a copy of the weather.xml file from the profile you see it in. And let me know the actual local time for you.
As for the dates, I suppose I can add an option to change the format. I pull the dates directly from the source file, so I don't actually do anything with them. I could change the format though to match whatever the user wants.

Unfortunately, I can't get the time range or times for the maps at all. I just download the map via a URL.

As an engineer, I'll take ISO format as well Smile
