Weather2 V1.0.1.2 Beta

To those who would like to beta test, here is your chance!

Please uninstall Weather2 V1.0.0.0 if you have it installed. Then delete the Plugins\weather2 folder. I changed the config.xml file to use a different variable type, so old config.xml files from V1.0.0.0 will not work with V1.0.1.2.

Changes in Weather2 V1.0.1.2:
- Bug fix for invalid maxforecastdays and updaterate values.
- Bug fix for when PVRX2.exe is running and config is executed. It now doesn't have an empty profile on initial run.

Changes in Weather2 V1.0.1.1:
- New installer, stops/restarts recording service, keeps newer dll files.
- Renamed "Local" maps to "State" maps.
- "None" option for satellite maps.
- Fix to not even attempt to retrieve a map if it's not available for your area.
- Refresh on Startup option.
- Profile name can be used for Location display.
- Include "weather2.XmlSerializers.dll" file.
- Minor Bug fixes

If you have an MVP, testing with that would be great. Also, I added the "Refresh on Startup" option, which required me to re-do the threading a little bit. I did some tests myself and it seemed to work as I planned, but anything you could try with it would be great!

Please post any issues with it in this thread.

Nice, but don't be hatin' when I tell you some of my problems. I do have it working however.
First, the uninstall never says it's complete. Just like the original install problems, I guess the uninstall works the same way. But, I removed all references as your instructions.
New version installed with no errors. When setting location ID, if I go into radars and make a choice, I get an objection error (can do this again if you need the info). If I simply do the location and then save, all works great. I can then go back into the plugin setup, choose the radars with no errors.
Again, it's only if I try to do the radar before saving JUST the location ID.

I'll try system 2 and let you know when I have some time tonite.

My install wont let me do changes to radars or satellites without setting the location ID first, and thats nice that way. Sounds like something buggered up in your install maybe? Did you try to unistall, Ccleaner, reboot, Ccleaner, and reinstall? Maybe that would work?

I had a similar problem to pcostanza in that I selected metric first before I did anything else & it threw an error message, it also did it again when I forgot to create a profile first before I selected an other options.

I had no problems when I went through it in a logical sequence by creating a profile then selecting location & then selecting the other options.

But (yeah that blasted but <grin>) I have "0 Day Forecast" under the forecast menu item?

BTW it is working fine on my NMT (apart from the 0 days forecast)

UPDATE: Fixed

I had a look in the weather2 config.xml & noticed "<MaxForecastDays>0</MaxForecastDays>" so I went back into config & selected 6 days & now I have "<MaxForecastDays>6</MaxForecastDays>" so it looks like if you don't alter the default in config it just leaves it as "0 Days"

Still not having luck in another system with the CS skin. Just a blank screen then a crash.
No worries, Blue skin is just fine.
