GBPVR works well for recording TV shows and I have had no problems except that it will not record the TV show "Con" on comedy central. All other TV shows I've tried to record have succeeded. I've also tried different timeslots. I have not tried to manually record by entering the time/channel but it would be nice if I didn't have to. Although not a big deal I don't want this issue to creep up on other shows. I'm on release .0912b.

Also, my playback on quick moving scenes is choppy at the top of the screen (the top quarter). I notice other posts on this so I'll check those out (unless someone wants to chime in).

Here's my setup. Athlon 2900, Radeon 9200, Hauppauge 150, 512MB Ram. Chaintech MB sound. Firefly remote. System settings for playback.

I have the damnest time getting Project Greenlight w/o doing a manual recording. I think it's in part a guide issue (zap2it and how it's listed).

Also, The Shield seems to add every showing, even though it's set for just time/day/channel (through regular schedule, not adv).

I don't think it's a GB problem, or one entirely.

Haha, I think I know the answer to this one...

Sub, you may need to work around this and create some special cases for certain show names. Windows will not let you create a folder with the name "con" .... ever. Actually there are a number of names you can't use. Read here:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/docum...l_rbrx.asp
That doesn't just apply to Windows XP, it applies to anything NT and newer, and possibly 9x.

I ran into this problem at my last job when we installed SMS on an NT server. We had a site we wanted to call CON (because that was the first three letters of the city). SMS died a horrible death when it tried to create that site. After we finally figured out why, we had to come up with a different name and once we did, everything worked fine.

Anyway, that's the problem. If you turn off the create folders option in config, it'll probably work...

Also, I seem to recall double quotes in a episode description will kill a recording. Check your log file and see what it says at the time the recording should have started.

Update: I still don't know what it has against Greenlight, but found The Shield problem.

There was a hidden 8-12 season recording scheduled, in addition to the Tue 10-11 one. It was invisible to XRecord. I saw it from the web interface and removed it.

The Greenlight issue I still blame primarily on zap2it, that seems to have a lot of after 10pm schedule errors.

I cant be sure, but from what i have seen of "Con" your not really missing anything. Maybe your pvr has developed taste of its own...

Update 2: Found the real problem w/ The Shirld, and it looks like it was zap2it after all.

The programe directory for times has most of them as (eg) 4/26 10pm - 4/27, so it ends up becoming all dates/times.

I assume it's being passed badly, as I can't think why GB would just mangle random times.

If you get recording problems, you're using just basic recording, and you have some understanding of mdb files, you may find the problem is here.
