Ok, so I've been scanning like mad trying to locate all my Comcast channels that moved to digital. I posted a few suggestions for channel mapping features in the features request forum.

Problems..

1. After a scan, preview a channel. Click on the video to enlarge. It gives you a OK and Cancel button, which seems to cancel you out of channel mappings. Suggestion - Video should open up in its' own window with just a Close (or ok) button.

2. This one is wierd...
Manual scan of a specific channel leaves you at an hourglass. Does that even work? I let it run for a long time and it didn't do anything. Now click STOP. Try to ReScan. Now I get "No channels found. Please check your signal and configuration settings". Click OK. Now every mapping where I had nothing before is now filled with one single channel. Click CANCEL to return back to "Edit Recording Source". Go back into digital channel mapping, and now everything is GONE and it begins to rescan. Click STOP. Click CANCEL. Click CANCEL. Click CANCEL (you're now out of config). Run config again, and go back into the channel mapping. Everything is still gone and rescans. Let it finish and everything should be back.

By the way -- if you map the wrong channel, how can you unmap a channel without deleting all mappings?

Try adjusting the following values in config.xml. It should help with finding channels.

Code:
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>5</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
  <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>25</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

Just select the correct channel in the dropdown or uncheck the channel to disable it.

I agree with this, it seems if I am tempted to go big on my video to enlarge during scans either button seems to bump me out of config. Perhaps should be on other thread though. Who knows.....

Cheers

Btw, I adjusted the BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds and BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds values. For me it really didn't help locating any other stations.

If I wanted to manually create the entries in the .cache, I know the freq, program, video and audio PIDs. Where do you find the PMT pid value on a Comcast STB or DTA?

I don't know where you would find the PMT on those STBs sorry. You could probably use TSReader Lite to find it if your card is supported.

Post or PM me your zip code along with the channel/frequency with the missing channels. If you can post a set of logs showing a scan, that would help as well.
