Martin Vallevand has and made an excellent Web Radio plugin, while learning C#.
I helped out with testing, icons, wiki docs and skinning.
The plugin supports external players so any streamprolmat can be played.
The are something like 100.000 web radio stations avaliable in the menus.
The default installer comes with a directshow bass player.
You can save and edit you favourite stations.
The features are so many that it would be a page with text here, so have alook the pictures instead and go the the wiki page read about all the feature.
No support thread needed :-)

Martin will probably post info for NMT usage...later

I spent all day doing a fresh install of Gb-pvr 1.4.7 and twaeking here and there.
As the last thing I installed Web Radio 2.0. The installation failed causeing Gb-pvr to refuse starting up. :-(

Your config.xml file has an error in it. Compress and upload it if you'd like me to have a look at it in a message in the support forum http://forums.gbpvr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27

MixMan also makes a copy of the original file (config-backup.xml), I actually don't use MixMan's installer so I don't know much about it.

Hi mvallevand
Thanks for offering your help. But after trying to repair the gb-pvr installation, uninstall and reinstall I gave up and rolled back the entire C drive by installing a ghost backup i made few days ago.
My idea by posting my problem was also to let Mixman know that he might want to look at the installer to see if something is not working.

He might but it could also be simple user error, I've used wordpad too often on config.xml, now we will never no. I did do a couple of VM installs successfully.

My suggestion for others who might be reluctant to try this after reading dane's post is to manually copy config.xml and then proceed. Alternatively I do have my own base install which uses the NSIS installer that doesn't install the image files that I have tested myself more should anyone prefer this.

I had the same problem as Dane with GB-PVR and Config refusing to start after Web Radio installation.
I tried :-
System Restore to a previous date--no joy
Uninstalled and Reinstalled GB-PVR--no joy
Deleted GB-PVR directory completely and reinstalled--joy GB-PVR works
I made a backup of the GB-PVR directory then crossed my fingers and installed Web Radio again and it worked first time.

Its a great program --- Thanks

Thanks JEF.

dane/JEF, I had a chance to look at MixMan's batch file and while it has a few issues it didn't corrupt config.xml. The issues I see are

1. It won't run properly if Reg.exe is not in the path (it won't work by default in Win 2000)

2. Definitely do not unzip the file into the GBPVR folder especially in Vista

3. It won't work properly if the default WebRadio plugin values have been removed from config.xml

4. It messes up the MVP section of the config.xml (finally I found the culprit)

Another thing I found out last week is that MixMan defaults to his external bass.dll based player.

So while we are tracking this down everyone who tries this should backup their config.xml to a safe location just in case, and then if it fails, upload config-temp.xml and config-backup.xml which should be created in the GBPVR program folder and your GBPVR logs, so we can look at it, and then replace your config.xml.

If you run into problems, please post you config.xml file.
I saw in the error post above that a xml root element was missing.
I would like to figure out why or what element what was missing....that caused the installer ... not to work in some cases.
It is probably very easy to fix, if I see how the cconfig.xml looks like.
Best Regards
