whurlston: Before receiving your reply I had gone back to a previous version (1.3.11). Then later my trial Schedules Direct subscription had run out. However the channels delivered by Sched Dir were still available in the configuration so I went ahead and used your advice to change the BDAPsiScan times as you suggested. I enabled all of them by checking the check boxes. Still no success with the scan even though the channels were clearly being picked up by the config program signal strength reports.

So I uninstalled the old and the reinstalled the current version -- this time using the DVB EPG Broadcast option for the EPG source because of the lack of a subscription. No success.

Next I changed the the BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds to a ridiculous 30 seconds and the BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds to 60 seconds. I did not go through the whole scan (too much time to wait!) but I did hit two active channels with strength and quality numbers in the 80s (according to gb-pvr config) and still the channels were not "found."

Only extreme stubbornness on my part has kept me in the game this long! Any more advice?

Try opening your scan cache files in notepad. They should be empty. Copy and paste the following into both of them:

Code:
T:33,0,0~P:1~TSID:1573~V:17~A:20~PMT:16~PCR:17~N:>3.1  KDLHDT
T:33,0,0~P:2~TSID:1573~V:33~A:36~PMT:32~PCR:33~N:>3.2  KDLHDT2
T:19,0,0~P:1~TSID:3243~V:17~A:20~PMT:16~PCR:17~N:>6.1  KBJRDT
T:19,0,0~P:2~TSID:3243~V:33~A:36~PMT:32~PCR:33~N:>6.2  KBJRDT2
T:19,0,0~P:4~TSID:3243~V:65~A:68~PMT:64~PCR:65~N:>6.4  KBJRDT4
T:10,0,0~P:1~TSID:1577~V:17~A:20~PMT:16~PCR:17~N:>10.1  WDIODT
T:10,0,0~P:5~TSID:1577~V:33~A:36~PMT:32~PCR:33~N:>10.2  WDIODT2
T:17,0,0~P:1~TSID:1579~V:17~A:20~PMT:16~PCR:17~N:>21.1  KQDSDT
T:17,0,0~P:3~TSID:1579~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~PCR:49~N:>21.3  KQDSDT3

The next time you open Config and go to the channel mapping screen, you should have the channels listed. Try clicking on them to see if you can view them. Also try mapping them and see if you can view them in PVRx2. If you can't do either, zip and post your logs showing the attempt.

I guessed on the PMT values but it should not matter if they are wrong.

Edit: I haven't created entries for your PBS channels yet but lets see if it works first.

No video now or ever, although the channels were listed in config's 'Capture Sources" screens based on the preloaded cache. Log files are attached.

It's definitely locking onto the channels. Can you try specifying audio and video decoders other than the ArcSoft/Cyberlink ones in your playback tab?

Also, when "viewing" a channel in PVRx2, does the HDHR Config (GUI) show the appropriate network rate? If so, that means that it is streaming and GBPVR should be displaying it. Which would surely point to decoders. If the network rate shows 0, then something else is wrong.

I am having the exact same issue. I used Schedules Direct to create the list of stations. But when I do a channel scan, GBPVR does not "find" any stations. As it is scanning, I can see activity on the HDHR, and GBPVR says it sees station signals where I know they are (channel, signal strength and quality all good), but at the end it says no stations found. I have tried all the recommendations in this thread with no success. HDHR quick view works fine and sees the stations, and I have HDRH working with Windows 7 MCE. I am using Windows XP for the GBPVR.

I finally gave up on trying to get this to work on that system. The board is a A MSI k8NGM2-FID with a AMD Athlon 64 3000 processor running XP Media Center, Service Pack 3. I did everything mentioned in this thread and none of the fixes worked. I also have an identical system, same os with a 3500+ and it behaves the same way. I installed a fresh copy of XP pro and everything works without a hitch. It must be something with Media Center Edition.

I have since given up on that system since it doesn't seem to be powerful enough to handle ATSC. Upgrade in progress.

Thanks for all you help!

I am a newbie on this site and to GBPVR. It appears to have been nstalled all OK on winxpSP3 on Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop. The TV card is a usb dongle by video mate, the model being Compro U80. This is listed as working with the driver availble with GBPVR
"videomate U1xx digital Series".

The discovery process I initiated by pressing the "map digital channels to EPG channels". As I watch this happen I hear and see the channels clearly in the preview pane.

I tried the bdapsican..........delay increases noted earlier in this posing and not only did they not fix the problem (no channels found) the delays as the usb stick was run thro the frequency spectrum did not change - ie the change from 1 to 5 and 15 to 25 seconds appeared to have not changed.

I too have spent heaps of time on this and I really want it to work. Can anyone suggest further?

Cheers

Start a new thread and zip and post your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log showing an attempt to scan.

Hi,
I have been using 1.3.11 for a long time with no problems. I tried to upgrade to 1.4.7 at the weekend and have this same problem of the signal being OK and the channels appearing in the window but at the end of the scan it states no channels were found. After several re-installs of 1.4.7 I have gone back to 1.3.11 until this problem is solved. It’s a shame as 1.4.7 looks more versatile.
