Hi,
When I go to the tv guide and select a show and click record, can i watch that show same time I am recording it?

If I go to the pending recording directory and select that show, GB hangs or not doing anything.

I have two PVR150 and I know that I can go to live TV and watch it but if I am recording another show at the same time I am not going to be able to do it.

So to clarify, is it possible to record and watch a show at the same time with the same capture card?

Thank you.

You cant do it with the same card. One card must handle the recording and the other Live TV. It sounds to me like you have a config issue. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you where to start troubleshooting as I have not setup my PVR to use multiple capture devices.

You should be able to watch the recording from the pending menu before it has fininshed recording. I do it all the time with only one capture card. You say gbpvr hangs? Does it still continue to record the show? What do the log files say?

Hi stefan,
Being a junior member, can you please explain where the log file resides?

Here are the steps I take:
1) Go to guide.
2)Select a show and click and quick record.
3)Once the show turns red, I go to the recording tab and select pending.
4)I find the show I am currently recording and click and select play.

At this point GB-PVR hangs (On PC, I am not sure about on TV) and I wait a minute just to make sure it really hanged.

Do you see anything wrong in my process?

Thank you

Just to add, The recording service still works even though the screen of the GB hangs.

Seems to work ok for me. Here's what I did:

- Enter TV Guide (built-in one)
- Select a show & Quick Record (as you did)
- Enter "Videos" (I use the Video Archive plug-in)
- Select the show in the list that is currently being recorded.

Works like a charm!

Sure :-) Depending on where you installed gbpvr, something like:
c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr
In that directory there are a bunch of files that ends with ".log". Since I don't know what the error is, I can't tell you which of the files to look in. Check them all =)

No. That's exactly what I do to simulate timeshift, since timeshift mode doesn't work on my setup. And it works perfect for me.

I might be wrong, but another advantage of this way, is if you accidently backup out of timeshift, you loose your program completely...i.e paused for 1/2 hour lost. Recording and viewing keeps it safe Big Grin
