Question about instant recording.

Dear all. Can we watch other channels on LiveTV while recording a show thru Ctrl K, instant record? I can do it in scheduled rec but not in instant rec. I have 4 tuners working ok. Thanks for help.

No, you cant. When you do an instant record, its recording what you're watching.

i do it all the time, tho i call 'instant record' what happens when you hit record button on a tv guide entry...entry turns red and it records...

but i assume you mean livetv recording, which is still possible...depending on how you do it..
[must have <UseNewStyleRecordInLiveTv>true</UseNewStyleRecordInLiveTv> in config.xml, it's the default]

i just hit cntrl-k, then select the end time or 'until this show ends'...and then stop livetv and go watch something else while that records...

if you select 'until i exit livetv' it won't cuz you have to exit livetv to watch another channel and the recording will stop....
