I can't seem to get it working, even though the entry in BDA.ini looks good -- any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? The tuner is found, but I don't get a picture or channels when scanning in config.

My entry in BDA.INI:
Code:
[TerraTec Cinergy Hybrid Stick USB] TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T FILTER_TUNER=Cinergy Hybrid-Stick Digital Tuner FILTER_CAPTURE=Cinergy Hybrid-Stick Digital Capture PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0 PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_IN=Input0 PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

The output from FilterCheck is below:
Code:

The entry looks ok to me. Try doing a scan, then post the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Unfortunately there is no sign of any problems there. It seems like its working, and the device is managing to lock onto the channels, but the device is never delivering any data to GB-PVR for some reason.

Hi Sub,

yeah, I'm really getting pissed off with this adapter -- my PC takes only half-height cards, and the §/$&=! Pinnacle sometimes goes off into the weeds.

I'd be happy to send you the TerraTec adapter if you'd have time to take a look...just to spite the yoyos at TerraTec!

Pls let me know.

I also think it's safe to recommend that unless someone has vetted that a specific BDA card/driver combo will work, it's still a bit of a crapshoot.

Thanks,
Dane

Thanks - but dont bother. I'm not familiar with TerraTec devices, and there isnt many TerraTec users here.

Yeah, that pretty much why I recommend people stick to Hauppauge devices. At least we know lots of people are using them, and they generally work well.

Hi Sub,

keep nagging on this stupid adapter -- I'm getting steamed now, the adapter works like a dream on my faster system (Q9400) but won't on the slower one (Q8200).

Interesting on the failing system, when it locks onto a channel, when it moves to the next one, the picture does not change -- it finds the same transponder over and over again.

On the slow system, I enabled PSI logging and find this:

To be honest, I'm not really sure what to suggest. It sounds like its just ignoring GB-PVR's tuning attempts and staying on the previously tuned frequency. Are you using the same version of the drivers on those two machines?

Yes -- I've got an itchy feeling that it's a timing problem (even though with 4 cores and 2.5 GHz you'd think it's a ghost from the past).

Any suggestions?

Any options I can use to adjust the timings between tuning requests? Also thinking about the multiple requests (at least I see something about this in the config file).

Thanks,
Dane

You can increase the minimum time between tuning requests by tweaking the <BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds> setting, but I really dont think its going to help. I think some quirk in this device's drivers dont like the way GB-PVR is doing its tuning, so its entirely ignoring them.
