HTPC crashes when recording service restarts

System:

Windows XP SP3
Hauppage Nova-TD 500

I have been using GBPVR for some time now. I have used both recent versions 10311 and 10407 and both versions have the same issue.

1. If a scheduled recording starts whilst watching a recording then the HTPC restarts.

2. If I restart the recording service whilst its already recording, again the HTPC restarts. (I know i should do that, but i think its caused by the same issue).

I have rebuilt the system numerous times and the problem remains. I have all the latest windows updates etc.

I have looked through the log files but i dont quite know what I am looking for.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

it is not possible for gbpvr to cause the pc to reboot in this was due to how xp ring protects the kernel. this sounds like a driver or hardware conflict problem.

Make sure you use the latest hauppague drivers from the hauppague web site
Make sure you have installed the drivers for your motherboard (which will include the US controller)

try the card in a different slot.

can't of anything else just atm.
