Nova-T 500 Recording truncation issue

I'm guessing its a driver bug, but I dont know for sure. Hauppauge may not even be aware of the problem. Its the sort of thing that if the problem can be reproduce by particular set of steps, then I can see here in the debugger to give more detailed cause, or possible fix.

...but I dont have endless time to perform tests with a Nova-T 500, so someone would need to give me exact steps to reproduce it easily.

Hello all, thanks for weighing in on this issue sub and clearing up a few things.

As I said before, I'm absolutely sure its not a GBPVR issue and after having a bit more of a play I'm not even convinced now its a driver issue per-se.

There does not seem to be any particular set of steps to reproduce this problem; its appearing randomly as far as I can tell. Some complete fine, others fail. All I know is mine is now failing 4 out of 5 times on average.

The problem became worse slowly, there were no software changes that seemed to instigate it. I've had the card now for around 3 years.

As a hardware designer, my gut is starting to say it's possibly a hardware issue with something like crosstalk somewhere on the board which has become an issue as the board components have aged.

As such, I'm going to be ditching the Nova-t 500 and changing to a HVR-2200 which seems to be a good Dual Tuner card; my motherboard has an empty PCI-E slot. Hauppauge still seems to be producing good hardware and the Pinnacle cards don't seem to be very available right now.

Please let us/me know how you get on with the new tuner. I'm having what seems to be the same problem. Unfortunatly I don't have a spare PCI-E slot, so I guess I'll have to try anyother brand. Suggestions anyone, exspecially buying in NZ?
