Is it possible to configure gvpvr so that all recordings are done encrypted (and decrypt them during post-process), but still be able to watch live-tv on encrypted channels? That would solve a huge problem for me...

That would be great. The problem is that if I record more than one channel that are on the same mux, gbpvr tends to record them on the same capture source and the first show is decrypted, or partly decrypted, but the rest is recorded encrypted and I have no way of determining which is which except trying to watch them.
If all channels were recorded encrypted I could offline-decrypt them consequently in the postprocessing.

Btw: there is a parameter in config.xml, "BDAUseMDAPIDuringPlayback", what does it do? It is set to false.

That setting was never fully implmented. It was intended to decrypt encrypted recordings during playback.

If extended to include decrypting during live-tv it would really solve all my problems Wink.

Another wuestion while we'r talking: can you recommend a good dual tuner dvb-c capture card?

I'm not aware of any dual tuner DVB-C cards. They may exist, but I dont have one.

I was afraid of that since I was unable to find one Sad

Are you going to implement the options discussed here in the next release? When do you plan to start work on the next release? I know you'r very busy with your dayjob but are we talking months or years?

I'm already working hard on the next release, and have been making good progress.

I probably wont implement the BDAUseMDAPIDuringPlayback setting, but I'll add a setting to leave recordings encrypted.

Next release is a big one. Its probably another four weeks or so of development before I'm ready to start beta testing.
