So I have been working on getting video inset working on my machine... and when I hit menu on my hauppauge remote it does nothing. I have looked in the config.xml file and I have set any and all video inset options that I found to true but when I crank back up pvrx2 the log shows the setting as false. I have tried restarting recording service and also restarting the computer... neither worked. I have also tried this with blue and blue retro shv skins. Again I got no results. And by that I mean pressing the menu button seems to do nothing on screen. attached is my config and the .exe log from both skins. So what setting am I missing?

Oh also I tried this last night also setting the config file to say true and the logs read false... today the config read false. config.xml that is.

Oh and special thanks to Deusxmachina and fering for informing me about the possibility of this feature.

Have a check on your system for a rouge version of config.xml (like in c:\windows\system32 I think)

I think it's been read instead of the gbpvr folder version sometimes.

Close, Vista or Windows 7 probably has a rouge version of the config.xml in the virtual store. Do a forum search for that and you will find a similar post.

Well I run XP so the virtual store doesn't apply to me.

And I ran a search on my entire system and there were no other config.xml files except something in windows/pchealth/something_or_other that was about 8 lines long and didn't have anything to do with gbpvr.

The whole getting cached data when there is know where that it is adding it to the cache like most other things just has me confused. where is this cache?

Just as a side note I didn't have to change anything in config to get video inset working while I was developing Blue-Retro-SHV, all I did was start watching a video or live TV & then press the menu button ( Ctrl-M or HOME on the keyboard) & it returned to the main menu with the video inset playing the video.

As another side note you do have Windows set to show all files in all directories/folders otherwise (from memory) it won't search in the Windows or System32 directories (which seems is the common place to have a second rouge copy of config to be lurking in XP)

The Inset functionality is only available with the VMR9 renderer options.
