There isn't a method of only processing two minutes at this time. If you feel that you would use it a lot, I may look into adding it.
So have you run into any other issues during your testing? I've tested it extensively myself but as you demonstrated, there are many different setups that could cause problems.

Hello. I have had no problem at all using the latest scripts you provided. I'm really happy to have something easy to use that works great. I have also ripped a couple of video_ts i was having and it worked very well. Thank you very much for your help !

Good to hear. If you run into anything, let me know. Thanks for testing it.

Hi Stattik,
-stattik- Wrote:The attached script (stattik_transcode_0.5.6dr.bat) should have what you are looking for. ... I just recently found that there was a new version of your script posted and I had a few patches for the previous version as well as some difficulties to get that version to rip DVDs. The attached patch addresses the following issues: * Quoting problems with the reload part * Parsing of the ID_... variables. (There was always a trailing space) * With guide_mode off the dvdrip variable was not set to yes * Small fix to the custom_crop arithmetic * Disable a strange feature for up-scaling dvdrip files when full_res is choosen. See FIXME comment. * Remove the two EXIT commands at the end as this prohibited a clean return to the call ... command. Volker P.S.: I saw you have a new version of the script in the making, but I thought you might be interested in the changes.

Thanks for the patch vmq. I'm not really maintaining the old script anymore but if you attach your updated version, I'll add it to the wiki as a patched version.

Thanks, I hope you don't mind, I added a few missing entries to the ChangeLog on that page, plus a few cosmetic changes. Btw., I looked at your new script and I would have a short wishlist for future improvements/features * When choosing "NO RESIZE" the the script should still crop the video, but not scale it. This works with your old script and I use it for letterboxed analog recordings. * Add a setting to define manual crop values per resolution. Beside my 720x480 analog recordings I also have SD 544x480 digital clear-QAM recordings that need cropping with different values and HD recordings that need no cropping. The first point would be very nice, the second one is of the category "nice to have", but when auto-crop works not really needed. Volker

Please feel free to add to the Wiki what you want.
If you choose a resolution larger than the input resolution, it will autocrop and not resize just like you want. Choosing "NO RESIZE" will leave the source file alone. Maybe I'll add "NO CROP" to that description as well. The original version of the script had custom crop settings for each of the resolutions that I was using. I then realized all the possible resolutions and decided to come up with an automated way to get clean crop settings. Currently, autocrop finds the correct settings for my test sources. If anything, I'd like to improve autocrop over adding custom crop settings. Alternately, you could add the exact crop settings in the transcode.ini file (crop_choice=720:352:0:62 ). That will work on every file in that directory. |
