These logs seem to show live tv. If you enable live preview mode, does it work?

LIve preview works a bit better. SOme channels are still black (no video) but audio is ok. And it's intermittent. A set of channels that were working yesterday are no longer working today.

And usually what happens is that after about 5-10 seconds, the channel's audio goes and the video doesn't really stay in sync. attached are more logs.

I'm pretty new to the QAM stuff, just got a tuner to read it. Any patches or configurations that i should pay attention to? would upgrading to windows 7 do anything in this area?

No.

That latest log shows a live tv attempt to view 119.472. Was that an attempt that gave a black screen?

Given you've got audio, it sounds like its locked channels, but maybe the video decoder isnt working well. Have you tried other video decoders?

I was using the system defaults. incidentally, wintv7 runs without incident. Anyway i can take that data and dump it into gbpvr?

I'll play around with decoders. should i also play around with muxers? And would the preview in the digital channel mapping be related? cause some of those channels are black there as well.

yeah 119.472 shows fine on wintv 7, but locks up/creates issues under gbpvr

GB-PVR doesnt supply any decoders, so when you tell it to use a 'system default' decoder, it can pick any old garbage decoder on your machine. Often this work fine, but sometimes the decoder isnt very good. In your case it seems to be picking 'GPL MPEG-1/2 Decoder', which from memory doesnt do high def. I'd try other decoders.

Mux filters arent used for live preview livetv, so arent a factor at this stage.

Maybe.

Thanks Sub--for the sake of closure, i want to confirm that the solutions are helpful. yes, playing around with decoders and live preview stuff helped bring correction.
