Use USB then OK rather than just OK to select an mpeg video and it will play on the NMT player.

If you want a truly basic skin, you can configure the blue skin at 640x576 and still play HD, by adjusting config.xml and adding the command line option --display 640x576 However this will not speed up navigation while playing a file.

You would edit startmeup in the mvpmc share folder on the line that does not have a # at the beginning.

Is there a timeout for mvpmcx2? If I leave it on on PCH, at some point it exists.

There is no timeout but if your server hibernates or is turned off mvpmcx2's connection will cease to exist and you will be placed back at the NMT screen.
