I previously reported a problem with recording the incorrect channel in this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=45312 I made the config changes suggested there and am using the TS mux (not Full TS). The problem reoccurred over the weekend so upon further investigation I find the tuning strings appear to be messed up for the problem channels.

Channels of interest as found by my TV tuner:

106.1 KCTSDT (PBS)
106.4 KINGDT (NBC)

I have a test box running XP and GBPVR 1.4.7 that works fine on these channels. Here is the scan cache and Wiz BDA tool report for that box:

BDA Channel tool report:

Code:
KINGDT          005  T:106,0,0~P:4~V:1984~A:1985~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>106.4  Unknown1* (000(AC3))
KCTSDT          009  T:106,0,0~P:1~V:2048~A:2050~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>106.1  Unknown2* (000(AC3))

Scan cache:

Code:
T:106,0,0~P:4~V:1984~A:1985~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>106.4  Unknown1* (000(AC3))
T:106,0,0~P:1~V:2048~A:2049~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>106.1  Unknown2* (000)
T:106,0,0~P:1~V:2048~A:2050~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>106.1  Unknown2* (000(AC3))

They look correct.

Here are the corresponding items from the HTPC:

BDA Channel tool report:

Code:
KINGDT          005  T:106,0,0~P:1~TSID:34996~V:1984~A:1985~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>106.1  Unknown1* (000)
KCTSDT          009  T:106,0,0~P:4~TSID:34996~V:2048~A:2049~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>106.4  Unknown2* (000(AC3))

Scan cache:

Code:
T:106,0,0~P:1~TSID:34996~V:1984~A:1985~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>106.1  Unknown1* (000)
T:106,0,0~P:1~TSID:34996~V:1984~A:1986~PMT:48~PCR:1984~N:>106.1  Unknown1* (000(AC3))
T:106,0,0~P:4~TSID:34996~V:2048~A:2049~PMT:49~PCR:2048~N:>106.4  Unknown2* (000(AC3))

In the second case for the HTPC, the program IDs (P:x) are linked to the incorrect video and audio streams. To fix this, can I edit the scan cache to correct the problem, and then remap these two channels? Do I have to do something to reload the cache? I ask this because there are many more choices in the channel mapping list than in the scan cache file. Also, I have a Avermedia Duet dual tuner and there are 2 scan cache files scan3 and scan4. There are two other capture sources, a PVR150 and Graphrecorder, so I'm assuming the two Avermedia tuners are capture sources 3 and 4 and there is a cache file for each tuner.

As a side note, after getting these 2 channels to display the correct program in the channel mapping preview (albeit with the messed up tuning strings), they displayed the correct channel when selecting Watch from the Guide. But, KING was recorded when KCTS was chosen for Quick Record from the Guide. I might be wrong on this, but is there something that works differently between Watch and Record for the tuning process?

An additional note, the HTPC is on Win7, so am I perhaps getting faked out by the Virtual Store system such that I'm not seeing what is actually being used by GBPVR? I have the GBPVR folder set up for full control for everyone.

I don't think the cable provider has changed anything since the TV has continued to work with these channels IDs.

Hopefully this is clear enough to get a solution. I'd just as soon not rescan, if possible.

Thanks.

You'd need to go into the 'map digital channels to epg channels' screen, and map them to some other channel, ok out, then go back in an remap them to the correct channel.

The list shown in the drop down list is the combination of the existing mappings in the database, and the entries from the scan cache file.

Watching live tv relies on the audio/video pids from the tuning request. Recording only relies on the program number.

Maybe. Try deleting "C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files\devnz" to be sure you're using the correct version.

Thanks for the info. Do I understand correctly that I can edit the two scan cache files and the edited entries will show up on the channel mapping screen?

Aha, now I understand why watch and record are different.

Thanks a bunch.

Yes, but you'll also have the existing entry from the database listed, so you need to select the right one.

Editing the scan cache files worked as I thought it would. I think it's fixed now.

You're right, of course, both the old and the new are on the drop down list.

Thanks.
