Hi,

I'd really like a setting that could prevent the RecordingService from searching the disks every 10-15 minutes or lengthen this period, as this spins up the disks and makes noise even when not using the TV-PC.

There's an entry in Support on this also, but I thought I'd add it here, since it's a feature request. Thank you.

Best regards,
Lars

Sorry, but thats just how its designed to work. There are various things that need to reload the recording schedule from time to time, which involves checking the video file still exists.

I hate to suggest it, but if you've got noisey disks, buy quieter ones.

You're shortening the life of your disks by having them spin up and down all the time anyway. Just have them NOT spin down and find a way to quiet them. Mine makes zero noise when just spinning (grinding on access obviously).

You can reduce the noise by getting some little insulation strips or rubber washers and placing it between the drive and the drive bay. Works great.

I understand the need for a 10-15 min refresh. But I would add to this question;

Is there anyway the affected files can be moved to a memory drive? Or is there a way to tell windows to cache the directory so I doesn't need to access the hard drive?

Hi,

Thanks for the input. I'm working on making them quieter... some success but not quite happy yet.

I guess the program searches the actual files, so no way of caching it...

Thanks for the response. It's still a great product Smile

Best regards,
Lars
