AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR MTVHDDVRR PCI-Express x1 Interface

Just wondering if any one has tried one of these with GBPVR?

It looks to do the same as the Haup HDPVR, but is PCIE x 1 slot based.. and considerably cheaper..

HDMI and component in....... Smile

JonnyCam Say's he had it working with graph edit but I'm not familiar with it. Not sure if he had it working in PVRX2 or not. You need a fast machine like a quad core.

Also reported avermedia's codec sort of suck for mpg2, but that could change.

they where on sale at newegg a few weeks ago, so I'm waiting for them to go on sale again. Then I might play with one, without expecting much. :-)

Not quite, as it's software based encoding, not hardware like the HDPVR is.
1080i capture was maybe 50% of my quad core.

as Luttrell mentioned, the mpeg codec (only one usable for hidef) does suck.

Fuzzy grain on top of eveything, and recording sports didn't work so well - the flight of the ball in football & player movement was somewhat compromised. (not jerky, but it caught the eye. - I think thats what I mean)

And your reesults might be different for HDMI, depending on the HDCP restrictions put in place by your STB provider.

Thanks for the feed back.. I did a search under the title name, and didnt find anything.

Not as interesting as I had hoped.. dammit..

Be nice if Haup would release a HDPVR card.. Buy that in a heart beat.
