ok, it looks like the new problem is actually some sort of permissions related issue, but I'm not sure what to make of it.

I tried changing the recording service logon account to the same user that runs PVRX2. Now I CAN watch a recording in progress.

BUT, now the web server won't load which breaks the nice Vista/Win7 GB-PVR Desktop Gadget. I guess I'd rather give up the Gadget for now than not be able to watch an in-progress recording.

I have UAC set to the minimum "Never Notify" setting, but I've read that on Win7 UAC is never truly off... maybe this has something to do with it.

sub Wrote:Thanks for the file. I was able to reproduce the problem here. Unfortunately there doesnt appear to be a simple cause. Its dying somewhere in the Directshow framework when allocating memory. I'll be able to fix it, but its not the 5 minute type fix I was hoping for. I'll have to come back to it when things are a bit quieter at work.

Hey sub, any plans to fix this issue? I've got the same issue due to my specific configuration (DVR-MS, Windows 7). Since I want to use the Cyberlink codec, my current workaround is to remove (rename to .dll_, actually) the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder dll (this was necessary because no matter what merit I gave it, it still ended up as the default, and I wanted to use the Cyberlink). This is fine for GB-PVR but then I can't use the Microsoft codec in other apps.

Thanks,
Matt

P.S. I just get better results with DVR-MS than TS, that's why I'm using it.

Yes, I intend to make sure this problem wont happen in the next release.

Hi Sub,

any idea on when the next release is due? After trying MCE on Windows 7, I'm ready to come back to GBPVR and end this difficult experiment...

Thanks,
Dane

We started pre-release testing a couple of days ago, but its a relatively large release, so I'd expect it to be in testing a few more weeks.
