0 byte recording

I had a similar problem on windows 7 a couple of months ago where I would 0 byte recordings frequently. Uninstalling WinTV7 appeared to resolve it.

Oddly, I recently installed WInTV7 on a W7 x64 box and now I've started to have a number of 0 byte recordings. I can stop and restart and it works fine. No rhyme or reason. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Your description sounds similar to my situation. I sort of made the connection by noticing there was a wintv7 tray application always running with a log file being updated about every 30 seconds. The log file looked like it was pinging the hauppauge tuner cards to check their status. My tray did not have any icon for the application though which I also found very odd. Once I uninstalled it, my mystery 0 byte recording problem went away.
